The picturesque, historic seaside township is located on the pristine south coast. It’s spectacular beaches are known for walking, surfing, swimming and sandcastles; and eateries with a great Tavern, bakery, cafés.  In the winter months some southern right whales calve and mate in the waters off Middleton's beaches and can be viewed from Middleton Point or Bashams Beach during the whale watching season (June or July to October). Australian sea lions can be seen resting on beaches.

Come and learn to surf all year round, catch the historic Steam Ranger train along the coast, hopping off at some of the many beautiful towns for a bite to eat or a beer at the local pub. Hire bikes and ride along the Encounter Bikeway right through Goolwa and to Victor Harbor. Whilst there checkout the amazing Granite Island with the historic horse drawn carriage, and wildlife including the penguins, and the Bluff.
